The Outing to Newhailes House on Saturday 21st April 2018.
Newhailes House is a National Trust property which has been preserved but not restored deliberately.
This gives the building an air of time standing still with ghosts of the past still lingering. Ancient wallpaper, paint and bookshelves remain untouched and the subterranean kitchen and scullery vividly evoke the hard life below stairs.
Guided tours have been arranged starting at 11 am. These will be free to National Trust members or £9.00 concession.
Those less able may want to consider a 1st and downstairs tour only as the winding stairs in the house are challenging.
The gardens of the house will be open as will the refreshment facilities.
Please let Michael Thomson know if you wish to come indicating if you need transport and / or directions. He will be happy to supply further information on 01620 843310 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
