From when they were built in the 1930&#8217;s to when they were closed and demolished in the 1990&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Cockenzie and Port Seton Gala\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cockenzieandportsetongala.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cockenzie and Port Seton Gala\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cockenzie and Port Seton Children&#8217;s Gala is a unique community event normally held in June each year. The Gala involves primary school children who form a &#8216;court&#8217;, parade around the village on floats and even travel between the two harbours on fishing boats. The Gala culminates in the crowning of the Gala Queen.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cockenziehouseandgardens.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cockenzie House and Gardens<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cockenzie House is a stunning 17th Century Manager\u2019s House.\u00a0Cockenzie House is now returning to the cauldron of creativity and industry it once was when the Cadell family managed the saltpans, harbours and local coalmines.<\/p>\n<div id=\"comp-j5y6i8f8\" class=\"wp1\" title=\"\">\n<div id=\"comp-j5y6i8f8img\" class=\"wp1img\">\n<div id=\"comp-j5y6i8f8imgpreloader\" class=\"wp1imgpreloader\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.1722waggonway.co.uk\/\">\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp1imgpreloader\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.1722waggonway.co.uk\/\"><strong>1722 Waggonway Heritage Group<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp1imgpreloader\">The Waggonway Project is a community heritage project run by the 1722 Waggonway Heritage Group &#8211; created to interpret, preserve and enhance the route and associated industries &amp; environments of Scotland&#8217;s first railway, the 1722 Tranent &#8211; Cockenzie Waggonway<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"comp-j5y6i8f9\" class=\"lb1\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tranent_to_Cockenzie_Waggonway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tranent Waggonway<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Tranent to Cockenzie Waggonway was \u00a0the first railway in Scotland, opened in 1722.
